Pollitix is an online platform for political discussion, debate, and civic engagement in the United Kingdom, operated by Pollitix ("we", "us", "our"), a platform based in England.
Our platform allows registered users to participate in political discussions, debates, polls, and community spaces. We are committed to fostering respectful, lawful, and evidence-based political conversation.

2 Eligibility & Account Registration
Who can use Pollitix
You must be at least 13 years old to use Pollitix. If you are under 18, you must have the consent of a parent or guardian. By registering, you confirm you meet these age requirements.
Your account
- You may only create one account per person. Multiple accounts are not permitted.
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. Do not share your password.
- You must provide accurate and truthful information when registering.
- You are responsible for all activity that takes place under your account.
- You must notify us immediately at pollitix99@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorised access.
Verification
Pollitix offers an optional account verification scheme to confirm the identity of public figures, journalists, and organisations. Verified status is awarded at our sole discretion and may be revoked at any time.
3 Acceptable Use Policy Required
You agree to use Pollitix only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of others or restrict their use of the platform.
You must not post content that:
- Is unlawful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or discriminatory
- Incites hatred on the grounds of race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic under the Equality Act 2010
- Constitutes a criminal offence under the Online Safety Act 2023, the Malicious Communications Act 1988, the Communications Act 2003, or any other applicable law
- Contains or promotes terrorism, extremism, or incitement to violence
- Is knowingly false, misleading, or constitutes electoral misinformation
- Infringes any third party's copyright, trademark, or intellectual property rights
- Contains spam, unsolicited commercial messages, or coordinated inauthentic behaviour
- Publishes another person's private information without their consent (doxxing)
- Contains sexual content involving anyone under the age of 18
- Impersonates any person or organisation
You must not:
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of Pollitix or its systems
- Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers without our prior written permission
- Engage in coordinated campaigns to manipulate discussions or polls
- Interfere with or disrupt the platform or servers
- Circumvent any content moderation or access controls
- Create accounts following a suspension or permanent ban
Consequences of violations: Breaches of this Acceptable Use Policy may result in content removal, warnings, temporary suspension, permanent account termination, and in serious cases referral to law enforcement authorities..
4 Content & Intellectual Property
Your content
You retain ownership of the content you post on Pollitix. However, by posting content, you grant Pollitix a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, display, reproduce, modify, and distribute your content in connection with operating and promoting the platform.
This licence ends when you delete your content or your account, except where your content has been shared by others or is required to be retained for legal purposes.
Our content
All software, design, logos, trademarks, and original content created by Pollitix are protected by copyright and intellectual property law. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute them without our express written permission.
Third-party content
News articles and external links featured on Pollitix are the property of their respective owners. We are not responsible for third-party content. If you believe your copyright has been infringed, please contact pollitix99@gmail.com.
5 Moderation & Enforcement
Pollitix moderates content in accordance with our our Community Standards and Moderation Policy, which forms part of these Terms of Service.
We reserve the right to remove any content, issue warnings, suspend or terminate accounts at our discretion where we believe a violation has occurred. We are not obligated to pre-screen content but may do so.
Appeals
If you believe a moderation decision was made in error, you have the right to appeal within 30 days of the decision. Appeals should be submitted through our Appeal a Suspension page. We aim to respond to all appeals within 14 days.
6 Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. The Privacy Policy forms part of these Terms of Service.
7 Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
Platform provided "as is"
Pollitix is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties, expressed or implied, regarding the reliability, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose of the platform.
Political content
The views and opinions expressed by users on Pollitix are their own and do not represent the views of Pollitix. We do not endorse any political party, candidate, or policy position.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pollitix shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of, or inability to use, the platform. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the last 12 months, or (b) £100.
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by English law.
8 Third-Party Services & Links
Pollitix may contain links to third-party websites or services. We have no control over and accept no responsibility for the content or practices of those sites. Linking to a third-party site does not constitute our endorsement of it.
We may use third-party services to operate our platform (for example, hosting providers and analytics tools). These are listed in our Privacy Policy.
9 Account Suspension & Termination
Termination by you
You may delete your account at any time through Settings → Account → Delete Account. Upon deletion, your personal data will be processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Termination by us
We may suspend or terminate your account immediately, without notice, if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms of Service, particularly the Acceptable Use Policy. Where appropriate, we will notify you of the reason and any right of appeal.
Effect of termination
Upon termination, your right to use Pollitix ceases immediately. Content you have posted may remain on the platform for legal, safety, or archival reasons even after your account is closed, unless you request deletion under your rights in our Privacy Policy.
10 Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email and/or in-app notification at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use of Pollitix after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
For minor changes (such as corrections or clarifications), we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.
11 Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
Before bringing any legal proceedings, we encourage you to contact us at pollitix99@gmail.com to attempt to resolve any dispute informally. We aim to respond to all complaints within 5 working days.
